I was terminated from my job over a year ago and i got a 401k plan with them, but they still have not given me my 401k to me. i told them i did not want to roll it over just the cash. is there a time limit for them to return it to me

It depends on how your plan document is written, but I can't imagine that a plan document allowing for over a year would pass muster with the powers that be.

Call the US DOL and see if they agree.
