My 28 year-old daughter died from a pulmonary embolism iin 2005. My granddaughter is 3 years-old. Her and my son-in-law lived with me for seven months after my daughters death. One day he just up and moved and one month later remarried. I found it necessary to file for grandparents visitation rights. Have completed the final hearing and the judge has granted me some time. My question is for anyone who has dealt with visitation arrangements - part of the judgement dealt with summer visitation. The judge awarded me one week until she turns six, after that two nonconsecutive weeks and once she turns ten I have two consecutive weeks. The judge gave no starting day of the week or ending day of the week. My attorney has agreed to starting Monday at 3:00 pm. and ending on the following Sunday at 3:00 pm. I don't agree with this, Shouldn't it be starting Sunday and ending Saturday at least? I will be taking off work for the week, why would I start my day on a Monday afternoon?[/SIZE]

If it is not clearly spelled out on which day the week starts, you and your former son in law will need to work it out so that the week is workable for both of you. If you cannot work it out, you may need to have it clarified by the judge. Be advised, the judge may not be overly enthusiastic about something this "trivial". (Not trivial to you, but maybe to the court)

I'm very sorry for the loss of your daughter. Hug your grand daughter to pieces.
