At Florida Governor Jeb Bush's request, a prosecutor has ordered an
investigation into allegations that Michael Schiavo waited 40 to 70 minutes
to call 911 when he found Terri collapsed. In 1992, Michael testified in a
medical malpractice suit that he had found Terri collapsed at 5 am on
February 25, 1990. In a 2003 TV interview, he said that he had found Terri
collapsed at 4:30 am. He called 911 at 5:40 am.
Why didn't Jeb speak up about the time gap BEFORE TERRI DIED?????????? He
could have used the time gap as an excuse to remove Terri from Michael
custody and reconnect her feeding tube. (IMHO, the time gap would indicate
negligence, which would have disqualified Michael as Terri's guardian and
thus nullified his authority to order the feeding tube removed).

But I thought Terri suffered cardiac arrest when she collapsed in
1990. Without immediate medical attention, she would have died
right then and there. How could Michael possibly have waited
40-70 minutes before calling 911 -- unless he had been giving her
CPR the whole time?

Rather than an indication that Michael was lying about the time
he found Terri collapsed, it seems more likely to me that he
simply got confused about the time of the event.

Perhaps more importantly, why did no one pursue this question
during the trial of the malpractice suit? It seems to me that
if the gynecologist's legal staff could have pointed to a time
gap as the real reason for Terri's condition, they would have
done so.
