This is a question.
Here is the scenerio.
A newphew died in on a thruway in winter hit by a car at night while
scraping ice off his girlfriends windshield, she was driving. He was living
with her,no engaged or married at her parents house. The girlfriend refuses
to turn over his property to his surviving family.I am talking about
clothes, electronic, computer, tools and appliances and family heirloom and
collectibles.
The family is pursuing a wrongful death suit against the driver that hit my
newphew to help cover funeral and burial and memorial headstone costs. In a
case like this would not the girlfriend turn over her deceased boyfriends
belongings to the deceaseds family members? It has been 7 months since the
incident. The lawyer has sent 4 letters with deadlines to the girlfriend,no
repsonse,no replies.
Anyone had a similar experience? Any advice?
Thannks in advance
