Steve, I want to apologize for denigrating your observations about Iran's
covert ops in Iraq. Iran is obvoiusly much more effective than either of us
thought, since it looks like they engineerd our invasion of Iraq in the
first place. Since the revelations that Chalabi, recently seen seated in
place of honor behind Laura Bush during this year's State of the Union
speach) has been in cahoots with the intelligence wing of the Iranian
Republican Guard for years (according the Mid-East analyst for Fox News),
spoonfed Iranian-authored claims of Iraqi WMD to a gullible White House
which then tried to shovel these claims to the world, most famously in
Powell's completely discredited UN brief, to successfully lead us into
invasion, and was plotting an Iranian-backed Sh'ia coup (led by himself)
against whatever authority the US planned to hand sovereignty in June, I am
rethinking my appraisel of Bush and Co. Bush should be impeached. He held
Chalabi, this viper, to the breast of the nation and invited him to bite. He
goaded the US into paying Chalabi $27 million dollars so he could spy on us,
lie to us and plot against us, and told us he was our best friend. And don't
think this is some partisan, election year stunt. Bush sold us out, either
through incompetence, willfull ideological blindness, or base corruption.
He's got to go.
