That's a truism about anything in life, pretty much, isn't it?

Having a child can be win-win-win, or win-lose-win, or win-win-lose,
or even lose-lose-lose, or pretty much any permutation you can come up
with when you take two parents and a child into account. It becomes
even more complex when you bring in siblings and grandparents.

Getting married can be win-win, or win-lose, or lose-lose.

And so on. Obviously relinquishments are not usually contemplated in
birth situations that are win-win already. Sometimes it's trying to
retrieve a situation that could be lose-lose.
