PHILADELPHIA -- A search is under way for the family of a 2-year old girl who
answers to the name Ya-Ya. She was found abandoned in a drug house.
Everyone NBC 10 talked with is asking who could have left a child alone in such
a dangerous place. The toddler was found inside a crack house in late February.
The Department Of Human Services knows nothing about her -- not even her name.
When caseworkers asked her what her name was, she said Ya-Ya, so that is what
they are calling her.
"We know she's around 2 years old and we've done tests and she's fine. She's a
very healthy child, so somebody was taking care of this child," said Ted
Qualli, of the Department Of Human Services.
Ya-Ya has been placed in a foster home and DHS official need help locating her
parents. Over the last three months, authorities have not been able to find
anybody in the neighborhood who could identify her.
If the girl's parents aren't found soon, she could have a new family because
DHS would begin the adoption process.
Authorities say that the family that is taking care of Ya-Ya wants to adopt
her.

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail . . . but, a true friend will
be sitting next to you saying, "Damn . . . that was fun!"
