Progress Left 11-10-2004, 10:30 AM Earler today, my wife spoke with the realtor trying to sell our house. The listing had
recently expired, and she chatted him up a bit on the election, etc. She then told him it
was important that we re-list the home with someone who shares our political beliefs.
At first, he said he really didn't follow politics. When pressed however, he did mention
that he knew we were Kerry supporters. When my wife said it was important that those we do
business with feel the same, he replied, "Well, I guess that lets me out."
We told him we would be re-listing with another agent, and he said, "So you're mixing
business with politics, then."
We answered, "Yes."
I'm saddened by this. He was a likable man, but I know we had to take a stand, for he
played a part in this descent into fascism when he pulled that lever.
I dread these next four years, not only for what it will do to this country but for what it
will do to her people.

Too funny. I recently stopped doing business with a local independant
video rental store after the owner let slip he supported G aWol Bu$h
and his Criminal Junta. Guess it's back to BlockBuster for now.

Don't feel too bad, it is the Bushophiles who set this up as an "if
you're not with us you're a traitor" election, starting way back in 2002 and
continuing until the day of the election. Congratulations on your decision,
and I hope everyone else follows suit. Nastiness and partisanship have been
mainstays of republican businessmen for years, from neighborhood blacklists
to freedom fries, and it's well past time to level the playing field.

2 of my 3 best friends are liberals who voted for Kerry...they're still my

Ya gotta laugh - or else you'ld cry.
I can't tell you how many discussions I have been in or seen here in the
groups where rightards insisted that employers could screen employees for
rerligion,. cultural views, and - illegally - race, physical apperance and
so on. Or hos maany discussions wehere rightards insited that an employer
had the right to dictate an employee's participation in political rallies or
speech.
So here an employer wants to screen an employee to see is he is a liberal,
and rightards shed elephant tears.
Rightard = hypocrite.

shortcoming you have toward others, or are you rationalizing away the
way you wrongly treat people you don't agree with?
Since I doubt you have the means to make any boycott work, you can

McDonald Bombing 12/6/2002 Indonesia 3 killed 12 injured during bombing of
McDonalds duiring Ramadan Fast.
(interestingly McD's and KFC were burned down in India as symbols of Western
economic domination - McD's has 30,000 outlets worldwide and is the
best-recognised brand in the world). While this particular central london branch
is a prominent McDonalds there are few people on the street in this government
district - next time we intend to unleash the low pay clowns around some busy
McD's in working class areas where no doubt it'll go down a treat.
