When the baby is born, she will need to file for support in court. He will be given notice of the hearing and will be ordered to appear. There, he will have to sign an affidavit of paternity, or submit to a DNA test. Once he is found to be the legal father, child support will be ordered. His pay will be garnished (and as he is in the military, trust me, it WILL be paid or he can face court martial on top of civilian penalties). If he does not show up for court, he will be found to be the legal father by default, and the ensuing child support order info will follow. There is nothing to be done until the baby is born, so just tell her to sit back and take it easy. (I know, easier said than done)

If he is deployed with the military, the court cannot proceed until he returns.
