If you are looking for the opinion in a California Supreme Court or
Appellate Court case, go to http://www.findlaw.com.

If you are trying to find the pleadings or trial transcript of a case
that has not been appealed, go to or send somebody to the courthouse,
pull the case record in the clerk's office. After you find the
documents you want, the clerk will make copies of those pages for a
fee.

Different courts have different services available. You'd have to
look at the websites for each county you think the case may have been
filed in. For example, LA County has a way of ordering copies of
documents online. You can get them immediately if you pay for them
with a credit card. Orange County, you have to order documents by
mail. This is all assuming you can't go to the courthouse.

Thanks Bob, I believe the lawsuit would have originated in Moreno
Valley. Do you know if that is in Orange county? Also, where can I
find the website for the court? I tried a web search, but I can't
figure out how to search for the case from any of the sites I found.
Any idea if I should be searching i District or Superior court? I am
pretty sure it is a medical lawsuit for wrongful death or somehting to
that nature.
