View Full Version : A doctor damaged my urethra - what do I do?

Hi,
If I suspect a doctor has done damage to me (my urethra)
unnecessarily, what should I do? I feel that I should contact a
medical malpractice lawyer - is this correct? If so, what's the best
way to find one in my area to discuss the situation with and who will
be concerned enough about my health (rather than money) to make sure
the damage is accessed in a way which won't damage me further and who
would hopefully find me the right doctor to have the damage
successfully repaired? For those who don't know, damages to this area
can be difficult to fix permanently and can cause serious
complications. This really worries me. I need to get better as a
first priority and need to find help who understands this. Any advice
would be very much appreciated.
Please reply to me by email at johnaclark1@hotmail.com.
Thank you very much for your help.

Go see another doctor. Then, if you and the doctor think the first
doctor did significant injury to you, consult with a medical
malpractice attorney. Contact your local bar association(s) for
referrals.

Well, I don't know about that since some doctors will not be critical of
other doctors no matter how grievous the negligence. I just talked to a
trauma doctor who says he sees a lot of negligence by other physicians but
says he would never give evidence, testify, or even divulge it to a patient
or attorney.

This is my concern and I have a doctor friend who agrees with this.
:( So what am I supposed to do?
