What the heck does "move on" mean to you?
It seems to me like putting a child in permanent fostercare. >>
Both my sons know their birth families. Trust me. This does not make our family
a permanent foster care" situation. It makes us a regular family through
adoption with children who get to know their original family members, most of
whom love them very much.
At least with a closed adoption everybody knows where they stand. >>
Where they stand? No one connected to our family is confused about "where they
stand" or the roles they play, including the birth relatives of our children.
It seems to me in your opinion birth relatives of children placed for adoption
have only one rightful place to stand...on the outside. Why? Doesn't it matter
that the children can benefit by being allowed to keep what was theirs all
along--their original relatives?
Do you mind clarifying your involvement with adoption, Geopelia?
Thanks.
