Steve White <steve@spam.me.never> wrote> Is there any corroboration that any of this is true? So I've been Googling for a while and can't find anything in the press about this. It's certainly possible that there is no death notice in a newspaper (those may not get google-linked, in fact they probably don't). There's no news article written that I can find based on this press release. What I did find was a reference to a post at adoption.com, in their forums, at this URL: http://forums.adoption.com/t87589.html This is a message, at the bottom, from a "Cindy Jordan", member since October, 2002, with 131 posts at the time this was posted, at 12-01-2002, 10:49 PM. Take a look. Again, I got this by Googling the name, so it isn't like it's private information -- it's on the net. I have, however, x'd out the name of the child. Of course, I have no idea if this particular Cindy Jordan is the same woman as in the press release. However, certain things about the post do seem to fit in terms of the age of the child in question. The member profile for this person lists the date of the birth of the child as the same as in the press release. There is other information there but I'm not going to post it. So then -- assuming that the note below is from the same Cindy Jordan, it doesn't seem, as of the time she wrote it, that she was grieving, or thought she had been deceived by the adoptive parents of her child. So if I assume that the note below represents her frame of mind then, and I assume further that the press release is accurate, there's quite a disconnect.
There's another post that somewhat speaks to the issue; she talks of
being depressed and in an abusive marriage.
I can't get the link exactly, but if you search on Jordanmode it comes
up.
(She apparently posted under the name Jordanmode)
I think she did exist; she was in the realty loan business somewhere
near Atlanta, GA. I have seen a website that could be hers, asking for
business.
I am quite confused about the facts, though. In her post, she refers
to a son, then 14, and an abusive marriage. I had the impression there
was more than one son.
I think things are a lot less clear than they purport to be. I also
don't know how many people knew her real-time and not through her
posts.

She had two sons.

I didn't know her but I know people who had met her.
She definitely existed.

I suspect there is a whole lot more to the story than her relinquishment
of one of her sons, even if the adoptive parents of that child turn out
not to be the poster aparents of the year.

Actually, she relinquished her daughter, not her sons. She was raising
one of her sons and was in frequent contact with the other; I am
guessing she did not have custody of him.

Which begs the question - why not? It might shed more light on the
subject.

Why is wanting to know all the facts of a situation considered "crap" to you?
Just because it might show that the bmom wasn't a perfect, helpless victim?

What kind of crap would that be Jackie? Perhaps a second loss was too much
to bear. Do you know something you aren't sharing? Are you just making
your usual baseless assumptions and accusations?

I don't see what's crappy about curiosity. It's human nature to be
interested. I've wondered the same thing.
In fact, I think sympathy and curiosity are often related.
It isn't all necessarily about gossip and criticism, but sometimes
it's also about understanding the kind of situations in which people
find themselves. Sort of how they got to where they are.
One can't help wondering, and as far as I'm concerned, whatever the
reason, it's unlikely to make a difference to what I think about the
way this particular adoption was conducted.

And to tell the truth, I have been waiting for this kind of crap from you
Jackie. No one said OH SHE was a bad mother....only had one of three
children living with her, something must be wrong with her. They simply
asked why not and wanted more information. There is nothing wrong with
that.
