Hi. Is it legal to post the WHOIS data about a domain registration in a newsgroup?
When I say legal, I mean legal by govt. law. Not legal by charter.

Even though the information in a phone book is public domain, it is still considered private information. If you feel that is your right to post someone's personal information, then be prepared to have it done to you. There once was a case that was innocent by nature. A man and his son were out in the front yard together and over a period of several days, the man noticed cars with single guys driving by, slowing down, some stopping, and just staring at them. He later learned that someone had posted a photo of his son in a usenet newsgroup, and gave out the address where to find the boy.
