Does pursuing a personal injury auto accident claim make it harder or more expensive to acquire automobile or medical insurance in the future? I read about black-listing of property insurance, and pre-existing problems for medical insurance, and cant help wondering is similar red-lining for personal injury. I realize I am already in such databases for having the economic parts of a claim paid out in auto accident, but can there worse consequence for hiring a PI lawyer?

Not that I know of. But some insurance companies would probably like you
to think so.

Are you talking about pursuing a claim against another person and his
insurance? Or are you talking about a claim against your *own* insurance?
There's a big difference. The former would be a tort claim, in which you
would likely have to prove that the other person was at fault. The latter
would be a contract claim in which you would have to prove that the
conditions of the contract were satisfied.

And what are the circumstances of the claim (i.e., state, how the accident
happened, etc.)? Those are critical.
